Why Your AC Is Running but Not Cooling

An air conditioning failure doesn’t always result in a complete system shutdown. Sometimes, we hear our units running and think that all is fine. Until the temperature in the house keeps steadily rising. There are several factors that could cause this.

It may be due to a refrigerant leak, which can significantly reduce your system's cooling efficiency. Additionally, a malfunctioning compressor or a clogged air filter can impede airflow and cooling capacity. Another potential issue is a faulty thermostat that doesn't accurately communicate with the AC unit, leading to inconsistent temperature regulation. Steps to Take When Your AC Stops Working

There are some basic reasons that your unit may have stopped distributing cool air. You can find out how serious your problem is with these steps:

Check the thermostat: Ensure that your thermostat is set to the cooling mode and the temperature is set lower than your current room temperature. Sometimes, a simple reset can resolve minor issues. If the display is blank, replace the batteries.
